Don't Sell Your Course Descriptions Short.

We live in an informational society. Companies need to communicate information about their course to their trainers, clients, and potential clients quickly and clearly. Your course description sells your course and you should not underestimate the importance of its function. The more you tell the more you sell. That is the main reason there is no limit to the amount of information you can enter into your course description on Courses.ie.

Your course description engages with your potential client. They are looking for specific information that tells them “This is the Course for you!” You maximise this opportunity by providing a good, descriptive outline of your course, with as many keywords relevant to the content as possible.

Why include keywords?

1. Searches are done by keywords and most techniques to improve your search engine rankings have one thing in common -- keywords. Choosing appropriate keywords is extremely important.

2. People search in weird and wonderful ways so Include variations of your keywords
People will search for your course using all sorts of keywords. Making your course easy to find means including, capitalised and plural keywords. Always include the longer forms of keywords too. For example, use "Public Relations" as well as "PR." “Short Term Courses” as well as “Part Time Courses”, “Part-time Courses”, “Part time Course”.

3. Include your category in the course description also. Not everyone searches using the category button, but include category as a keyword in a string of keywords. E.g., “full time computer programming course java

We also want to help course seekers get to the course that they want. Having good descriptive information along with good communication skills and ease of contact are essential for course seekers. Ultimately course seekers want quick and easy access to booking the course they want, and course providers want searchers to contact them and book that course. That is why seekers have access to the providers contact details, email and web clickable links, and an email enquiry form (provided an email has been supplied.

Often people are searching for course information for their friend, brother, sister, boyfriend, girlfriend, significant other, so we have provided a Tell a Friend Link too!

Remember your course description is there for a reason, to inform seekers of your course content and the more content the better informed the course seeker is and the quicker they can come to a decision on the course that they want to do.

Mock Exams, Real Decisions

They may be mock exams, but the stress is all to real...
It's hard to believe that it's mock exam time again. All over the country, thousands of Junior and Leaving Cert students are completing their exams and making decisions about their future.
As was reported extensively in the news, issues with the CAO website meant that Leaving Certificate students were unable to submit their initial CAO applications online as easily as they'd hoped. The good news is that the CAO website is now running smoothly again, and the applications that were delayed have now been submitted. As the "Change of Mind" forms won't be sent out until May, now is the perfect time to check that you've considered all your options and applied for the right courses.
Several Universities have chosen to advertise with us here at Courses.ie, including NUI Galway, Carlow Institute of Education, DCU, UCD, UL and UCC . We also have information and advice on everything from exam strss to choosing a career in our What If section.
The Courses.ie team would like to wish all the Junior and Leaving Cert students out there the very best of luck!
